Colin Kaepernick passes for two TDs, runs for another as 49ers beat LA again

Depending on how you view things, Sunday was a great or horrible day for the 49ers.

With the Cleveland Browns winning their first game of the season earlier in the day, the Niners were in prime position to claim the top spot in the 2017 NFL Draft.

Then Colin Kaepernick authored consecutive touchdown-scoring drives in the fourth quarter as his team went on to beat the Los Angeles Rams for the second time this season.

The last one with 31 seconds on the clock put the 49ers down a point and his scramble on the two-point conversion put them ahead.

Kaepernick finished with 266 yards and two touchdowns, while running for another score and the 49ers won 22-21.

The quarterback connected with eight different receivers while his counterpart on the other sideline, Cal’s Jared Goff, struggled to find a rhythm.

The No. 1 overall pick in the 2016 Draft threw a crucial interception with less than a minute remaining in the fourth quarter to end the Rams’ hopes of getting in field-goal range to win the game.

Goff finished 11-for-24 for 90 yards and a touchdown.

The 49ers trailed for most of the contest, trailing by 21-7 at one point in the fourth quarter before Kaepernick led the comeback.

The NFL team based in Santa Clara improved to 2-13 with one game left on the schedule against the Seattle Seahawks on Jan. 1.
