The Western South of Market Task Force will provide a “report card” on its efforts on such matters as housing affordability, the retention of jobs, parks and open space, transportation and pedestrian safety at itsmeeting tonight. The task force was created in November 2004. Tonight’s meeting will be held at 6 at City Hall, in Room 421.
The San Francisco Art Commission will host the third annual Arts Education Resource Fair on Thursday from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Davies Symphony Hall, 201 Van Ness Ave. Mayor Gavin Newsom and schools Superintendent Gwen Chan will join artists, parents, students and education professionals to discuss available art programs.
A Board of Supervisors committee will vote on legislation today that would require the Planning Department to draft improvement plans for the eastern neighborhoods and ways to fund proposed improvements.
The legislation would also require the department to issue annual progress reports.
The Land Use and Economic Development Committee meets today to vote on the legislation at 1 p.m., in City Hall, Room 263.
The San Francisco Police Commission will meet in the Bayview district at 6 p.m. today, where it will hear testimony from community groups and residents.
The meeting will take place at the Earl P. Mills Community Auditorium at 100 Whitney Young Circle.
