Supes to vote on police foot patrols this week

The Board of Supervisors will vote Tuesday on an ordinance designed to establish a one-year pilot program requiring foot patrols in crime-impacted areas within the boundaries of Northern, Park, Tenderloin, Mission, Ingleside, Taraval, Southern and Bayview police district stations. It also requires reporting and review on the effectiveness of the foot patrols.

Changes to parking rules scheduled for discussion

Parking regulation changes are slated for discussion Tuesday by the Supervisors. Some of the new enforcement rules include establishing no parking zones on Market Street’s west side, approximately 100 feet south of the driveway of 3550 Market to the driveway of 3620 Market. A no stopping anytime zone might be created on Folsom Street’s north side, less than 200 feet east of 2nd Street.

Ethics commission

District 6 candidate seeks public financing

The Ethics Commission is today scheduled to consider an appeal from a candidate for supervisor in District 6, Matthew Drake, who is seeking public financing. Drake was denied participation in the public finance program when Ethics Commission staff determined that he did not meet the qualifications. Drake appealed to the executive director, who also rejected the application. Today’s final appeal is to members of the commission.
