The Board of Supervisors is expected onTuesday to vote on legislation aimed at making it more difficult for massage parlors to open up for business.
Supervisor Fiona Ma drafted legislation that would require massage parlors, which authorities say are often a front for prostitution, to undergo a public hearing before the Planning Commission before being allowed open.
The board was slated to vote on the legislation two previous times, but each time Ma asked for a continuance.
The Board of Supervisors meets Tuesday at 2 p.m., at City Hall, Room 250.
A development of 1,900 rental units at the corner of Market and Eighth streets is up for approval on Tuesday.
The Board of Supervisors Land Use and Economic Development Committee will vote on the project, and later that day the full board is expected to vote on the development.

The city Department of Public Health is now offering flu shots for $25.
People can schedule an appointment on the department’s Web site. The department is taking reservations from now until December.
Flu shots are given at a city clinic located at 101 Grove St. in Room 300. People can also schedule an appointment by phone at (415) 554-2863.
