While San Francisco and San Mateo County teams had a split decision when it came to Saturday's Central Coast Section football titles, there will be no local representatives in the regional bowl games.
Eighth-seeded Terra Nova beat third-seeded Monte Vista Christian 43-23 for the Division IV title, while fourth-seeded St. Ignatius lost a hard-fought 11-8 decision to second-seeded Aptos in the Division III championship game. Terra Nova entered the playoffs 4-6 and finished 7-6.
The 10-member California Interscholastic Federation selection committee picked the regional bowl games and the two teams that will play in the Open Division championship game.
Traditional Bay Area power De La Salle of Concord (13-0) will take on Centennial of Corona (12-2) for the Open Division title on Dec. 20 at the StubHub Center in Carson.
The winners of the regional bowl games will meet for the state championship at the StubHub Center on Dec. 19-20.
