Can anyone stop the City College of San Francisco women’s basketball team? None of their conference foes have been able to through eight games.
The Rams won again on Wednesday, beating Skyline College, 75-41.
Guard Brianna Deckman scored a game-high 16 points off the bench, and Nahrie Pierce and Destiny Kelly each added 11 points. Pierce grabbed 12 boards in the contest.
CCSF has a two-game lead over Chabot College, which is in second in the CCAA-Coast North, with four games to play. (The Rams beat Chabot by 28 points last week.)
It would take a couple major upsets for City College to not repeat as conference champions at this point. The Rams return to action on Wednesday when they play rival San Mateo at home.
The men’s team also won by a large margin on Wednesday, when the Rams beat Skyline, 82-61. The result improves CCSF’s record to 23-2 overall and 8-1 in conference.
Eddie Stansberry and Zachary Copeland combined for 32 points and Kendall McIntosh chipped in 11.
The Rams have a two-game lead over Las Positas, which lost Wednesday, and is ahead of Canada by 1.5 games. CCSF could salt away a conference title next week when it plays those two second-place contenders.
