With bicyclists making up nearly 8 percent of Caltrain’s total ridership, the agency has decided to open up an advisory committee to get feedback on biking policies.
The Bike Advisory Committee will be made up of nine members, representing the three counties Caltrain serves: San Francisco, San Mateo and Santa Clara. Each county will have one member from a public agency, one bike coalition member and one bike-using Caltrain passenger. The objective of the panel is to bring new ideas for discussion and help Caltrain guide its future investments, according to the agency.
The panel has not been formed yet, and anyone interested in joining the group can submit an application to the agency for consideration. The applications are due by 5 p.m. on April 19. For more information about the application process, visit Caltrain’s website at www.caltrain.com.
