Country superstar Brad Paisley has teamed up with rapper LL Cool J for what can only be described as their version of “Ebony and Ivory.” Actually, it also can unfortunately be described as, “The worst song ever written.”
“Accidental Racist” features Paisley opining about being a misunderstood white Southerner who just loves his heritage, but not all that horrible slavery stuff, and LL responding with, to paraphrase, Yo! That’s OK my brother, just don’t judge me because I look like Trayvon Martin!
Paisley: “Our generation didn’t start this nation/And we’re still paying for mistakes/That a bunch of folks made long before we came.”
LL: “Dear Mr. White Man, I wish you understood/What the world is really like when you’re livin’ in the hood/Just because my pants are saggin’ doesn’t mean I’m up to no good.”
