Police are investigating after a body was found Saturday morning in San Francisco Bay near Pier 43, police said.
The body, described only as female, was reported in the water about 7:10 a.m., according to San Francisco police.
The San Francisco Medical Examiner took custody of the body. No information on whether foul play is suspected was released.
