Univision boosting S.F. World Cup telecasts

Soccer fans can come out to the City Hall Civic Center to watch two of the World Cup’s highly anticipated games. On Tuesday, fans can gather to view the matches between Mexico and Uruguay and Argentina and Greece.

Television station Univision is sponsoring Tuesday’s broadcasts and will show the games in Spanish. The station will also do a live, on-site broadcast from Civic Center during the event.

“World Cup at Civic Center Plaza has been an unqualified success and we’re thrilled to be able to add these popular games to the schedule,” Mayor Gavin Newsom said. “The World Cup brings people from every background together to celebrate sport and the spirit of competition.”
