The California Public Utilities Commission will hold two public hearings today on PG&E’s application to raise gas and electric rates Jan. 1.

They are the first in a series of statewide hearings on the issue planned to be held during the next month.

Monday’s hearings, at 2 and 7 p.m., will be held at the CPUC’s auditorium, 505 Van Ness Ave.
