Mayor Gavin Newsom will stay close to City Hall in the morning where he will join several consuls general to celebrate Latin American nations’ Independence Day. Afterward, Newsom will make an appearance at the Geary Boulevard Merchants Association Annual Awards Luncheon, where he will no doubt mention his opposition to the hotel-tax measure on the November ballot.
