Plans to build, modify and demolish buildings and other structures on Treasure Island and Yerba Buena Island are scheduled to be discussed this week by The City’s historic preservation advisers.
The islands feature structures that were built by the military and in advance of the 1939 World’s Fair.
Surveys found that some buildings and other objects are eligible for inclusion on California’s register of historic structures, which can help protect them from demolition or substantial modification.
The San Francisco Historic Preservation Commission on Wednesday is scheduled to discuss the redevelopment plans and efforts to preserve the islands’ historic structures and features.
The commission provides advice to city lawmakers.
