Daly calls for study of most dangerous intersections

Supervisor Chris Daly introduced a resolution “calling upon” the Municipal Transportation to study and plan for bicycle facilities at “certain dangerous intersections and street segments.”

The specific locations: The intersections of Market, Polk, Oak and 10th Street, and of Howard, South Van Ness, 13th Street and Division, and along Division, 13th Street and Duboce from Folsom to Valencia.

The City “must take steps to ensure that its streets are safe for all modes of traffic, including bicycles,” the resolution says. The agency should have the work done by June, it says.  These roads were not included in the agency’s bike plan, a document outlining its work for the needs of bicyclists in the years to come.
