District 5 Supervisor Ross Mirkarimi’s call to transfer oversight of the crime lab from the Police Department to the city administrator will be considered Monday by the Board of Supervisors Public Safety Committee.

The crime lab was shut down earlier this year after former employee Deborah Madden admitted to taking drug samples, forcing drug testing to be outsourced and cases to be thrown out of court.
