The world’s largest construction contracting firms will be in The City tomorrow to get a look at some of the upcoming bids for Muni’s $1.57 billion Central Subway project.

In conjunction with the Laborers International Union of North America, a workers group, the Municipal Transportation Agency, which operates Muni, will host the Central Subway Prime Tunneling Contractor Conference on Wednesday. The forum will review five of the largest tunneling and construction components of the Central Subway. Collectively, the five projects will total over $700 million.

Slated to be completed in 2018, the Central Subway will connect the SoMa District to Chinatown.
