A new cruise ship terminal in San Francisco – spurred by investment from the America’s Cup yacht race coming to The City over the next two years -- will be dedicated by Mayor Ed Lee Tuesday at 10 a.m.
The new terminal at Pier 27 will be partially remade before the race events and finished completely in 2014, according to the Mayor’s Office. Christine Falvey, a spokeswoman for the mayor, said the new terminal is hoped to bring in more ships and more tourists.
The pier improvement is one of several on The City’s northern waterfront that is being sparked by the international event.
