Former Supervisor Bevan Dufty may be returning to work for The City with a new job title.

Dufty, who campaigned unsuccessfully for mayor last year, has acknowledged that he’s had conversations with Mayor Ed Lee about a possible administrative position in San Francisco government.

Dufty said he has not accepted any offers yet, and he would not specify which city position has been in discussion. He said he would reveal more information about the potential job offer when new developments arise, but for now he’s keeping mum out of respect for the mayor.

Currently, Dufty is working on an interim basis as a community relations manager at SamTrans, San Mateo’s public transportation system.

Dufty spent eight years on The City’s Board of Supervisors representing District 8, which covers the Castro, Glen Park and Noe Valley neighborhoods.
