The public comment period has been extended on the proposed bus-rapid transit network for Van Ness Avenue, but residents have just two more days to offer feedback on the project.
The San Francisco County Transportation Authority, a local transportation planning agency, recently completed its environmental impact report on the project, which will feature heavy-duty buses traveling down Van Ness Avenue in grade-separated, transit-only lanes.
The authority recently extended the public comment period regarding the study, but Friday will be the last day that the agency will collect feedback on the BRT project.
According to the environmental study, the project will reduce transit trips by 32 percent and increase reliability by 50 percent.
