VIDEO: San Francisco district attorney candidates go on the offensive

The race to be the next San Francisco district attorney has not been as high profile as the mayoral race, but that has not kept the candidates from going on the offensive.

Vying for the top prosecutor spot are four viable candidates: Sharmin Bock, Bill Fazio, George Gascon and David Onek.

George Gascon is the current San Francisco district attorney, and he was appointed to the post by then-Mayor Gavin Newsom. The appointment was made after then-San Francisco District Attorney Kamala Harris won statewide office as attorney general.

During an editorial board meeting with The San Francisco Examiner, current District Attorney George Gascon became the target of several attacks by the other candidates.
