Sharmin Bock kicks off San Francisco district attorney campaign with Jackie Speier

Sharmin Bock, the Alameda County prosecutor vying to become San Francisco’s next district attorney, kicks off her campaign Tuesday with a little help from Congresswoman Jackie Speier.

At an event at Golden Gate University, Speier and Lulu Flores, President of the National Women’s Political Caucus, will announce their endorsements of Bock and highlight the “lack of women citywide elected officials in San Francisco,” according to Bock’s campaign.

Bock heads the Human Exploitation and Trafficking Unit and Cold Case Units of the Alameda County D.A.’s office and is a resident of San Francisco.

Her kickoff event follows District Attorney George Gascon’s own kickoff event this past weekend in the Castro. David Onek, a U.C. Berkeley criminal justice expert is also running for the office.
