A story about a mother — who reportedly lives in San Francisco — who injects her 8-year-old daughter with botox has sparked outrage across the nation, and it hasn’t escaped Mayor Ed Lee’s notice either.

Lee knew about a potential city investigation but said he didn’t have any more details to share, and that the woman’s privacy would be protected in the process. He did, however, say that the story sounded like a case of an “overbearing parent.”

Trent Rhorer, director of The City’s Human Services Agency told KGO-TV that officials need to sit down and talk with Kerry Campbell and her daughter, Britney.

But there is still some question about whether the mother and daughter actually live in San Francisco, Lee said, meaning Rhorer and the San Francisco HSA might not be handling the case.
