SFO will have free Wi-Fi permanently

The San Francisco International Airport Commission approved a contract Tuesday with a wireless Internet provider that will make free Wi-Fi at the hub a permanent fixture.

Since September 1, passengers at SFO have been able to use wireless internet due to a past agreement between the airport and T-Mobile, but that contract expired in June and there was no long-term arrangement in place.

The Airport Commission on Tuesday approved an agreement with the Advanced Wireless Group (AWG), an internet service provider that is already active in six other airports. The agreement was the result of months of talks between the airport and AWG.
