One of Muni’s most troublesome lines — the J-Church — will be scrutinized Monday during a special hearing held by the Board of Supervisors’ City Operations and Neighborhood Services Committee.
At the request of freshman Supervisor Scott Wiener, whose district is home to much of the J-Church route, Muni officials will attempt to explain performance and reliability problems with the line, which carries 16,695 passengers each day.
Wiener’s hearing on the J-Church will follow another specially scheduled hearing on Muni service. Supervisor John Avalos has sponsored a review of the switchback practices on Muni’s 14-Mission line. That hearing will take place at 4 p.m.
