Some of the last vestiges of Muni’s old Fast Pass fares will be ushered out at the end of this month.
Muni’s M Fast Pass, a $60 monthly ticket that provides unlimited access on the agency’s system (but not on BART’s), will be phased out at the end of March to make way for the implementation of the Clipper card, the region’s one-stop transit fare.
The San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency, which manages Muni, began phasing out other forms of its Fast Pass in August. Currently, only 33,000 passengers are still using the M Fast Pass, according to the SFMTA. The agency has 700,000 daily boardings.
With the M Fast Pass set to be phased out at the end of this month, the agency’s senior and youth passes are set to be the only paper passes left on the system. Those passes will be discontinued by June.
