Muni to hold up Clipper Card sign-up events for seniors, youth

Muni will hold a series of Clipper Card sign-up events next week for its senior and youth passengers.

Everyday from 4 to 7 p.m. between March 28 and March 31, Muni officials will be at the Powell Street Metro Station to help its youth and senior riders enroll in the Clipper Card program, the region’s one-stop transit fare media.

Every senior (aged 65 and older) and youth (aged 5–17) will have to bring valid identification — be it a birth certificate, driver license, state-issued ID card, passport or other ID — to qualify for the Clipper Card program.

Muni is in the midst of transitioning away from its existing fare media to the new Clipper Card. Muni’s youth and senior passes are the last fares to be phased out. By June 1, all youth and senior passes will be replaced by the Clipper Card.
