A restaurant ban in the Upper Fillmore area was lifted Monday by the Board of Supervisors Land Use and Economic Development Committee.
In 1987, legislation imposing the ban was adopted. But Supervisor Mark Farrell said it was time to lift the ban to help with the local economy. “We have a number of vacant storefronts and the purpose here is really to increase the vibrancy here in the neighborhood,” Farrell said.
The full board is expected to vote to approve the legislation next Tuesday.
