Two San Francisco police officers were suspended Wednesday night for 360 days without pay for their part in a series of videos assailed as racist and offensive by former police Chief Heather Fong and Mayor Gavin Newsom.

What became widely known as Videogate has already resulted in the police officer who produced the videos, Andrew Cohen, quitting the force.

But two officers who have been fighting disciplinary charges, Wendy Hurley and Jimmy Lewis, found out in a heated hearing Wednesday night that they would be disciplined just short of termination.

But even if the disciplinary case is over after five years, that doesn’t mean it’s the last you’ll hear of the matter. There’s already talk of a lawsuit against the department and the Police Commission, so stay tuned.
