Frustrated Clipper Card users to receive new customer service location

Since it was introduced to Bay Area transit agencies, the Clipper card has not been without a little controversy and drama.

Hoping to right the ship (get that pun? A Clipper is a sailboat!), the Metropolitan Transportation Commission, which administers the one-stop media fare, will open up a customer service center in San Francisco on Wednesday.

The center, located at the east end of the Embarcadero BART station, will allow for basic card purchase and add-value transactions, while also letting customer trade in defective cards, receive senior and youth discounts, take advantage of deals on transit benefit vouchers, and get answers to the many questions regarding the card.

Officials from the MTC will unveil the new center at 2 p.m. on Wednesday at the downtown San Francisco station.
