The ongoing efforts to transform Cesar Chavez Street from a busy automobile thoroughfare to an artery that is safe for pedestrian and cyclists will continue tonight.
At 6:30 p.m., the Planning Department will host a community design workshop to discuss possibilities for the eastern portion of Cesar Chavez Street, covering the section of the street that is bookended by Highway 101 and Interstate 280.
The meeting, set to last two hours, will take place at the Buena Vista Elementary School on 25th Street. Last week, the Municipal Transportation Agency approved greening and traffic-calming proposals for the street.
