State Assemblyman Tom Ammiano, D-San Francisco, will hold a hearing next week on registration practices for California’s convicted sex offenders.
In a release, Ammiano, a former member of The City’s Board of Supervisors, said the hearing will focus on creating a “tiered registration system” for sex offenders in the state.
The hearing will take place at the Assembly’s Committee on Public Safety at the State Capitol in Sacramento. It’s scheduled to last from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
