Man slips cabbie an unwanted gift

Here’s a first: A San Francisco cabbie refused a tip last week.

But it wasn’t the sort of tip anyone would accept in front of cops.

Two plainclothes officers patrolling Geary and Jones streets at 2 a.m. Aug. 26 came upon a man they knew was on felony probation. After seeing the cops, that man walked up to a taxi and “quickly put his hands in the front driver-side window,” police said.

Turns out the suspect slipped the driver an unwanted gift, police said.

“The driver got out and several bags of methamphetamine fell from his lap to the ground,” they said.

The alleged druggie was arrested, cops said.
