Drunken driver should have heeded daughter’s advice

Cops busted a drunken dad who slapped his daughter after she suggested he take a taxi rather than drive, police said.

Officers pulled over the man in the 400 block of Stockton Street around 12:20 a.m. Sept. 14. He stunk of booze and was taken into custody for being uncooperative, cops said.

The cops later learned that the man had been drinking with his daughter and her boyfriend earlier that night. When his daughter suggested the taxi idea, he “became angry and started hitting the boyfriend,” police said.

He then slapped his daughter when she tried to pull him off her boyfriend, police said.

The father was arrested for battery on an officer, for the violence toward his daughter and her boyfriend, and for DUI, police said.
