A man who was hit with a baseball bat in a Western Addition park on Tuesday was accused of striking out with the assailant’s girlfriend, police said.

The attack reportedly occurred at Raymond Kimball Playground near Geary Boulevard and Steiner Street at about 4:45 p.m.

The victim had been drinking all day with the couple, police said, even though he had only known the pair for one day.

At one point the girlfriend accused the victim of hitting on her. The enraged boyfriend then smacked him in the head with a baseball bat, police said.

No arrests were reported.
