A laundromat owner was critically injured during an assault in the Tenderloin on Sunday, and police have arrested a suspect.
The incident occurred about 8:10 a.m. in the 300 block of Eddy Street, a block that also houses the Tenderloin Police Station, Officer Gordon Shyy said. The suspect, Kenneth Morris, 59, of San Francisco, reportedly was involved in a verbal argument with the 63-year-old man inside the laundromat, Shyy said. Morris allegedly punched the victim in the head. The victim sustained a serious injury when he fell to the ground, and he remains hospitalized in critical condition.
Morris was arrested a short while later near the laundromat, Shyy said.
