Hot-tempered woman allegedly torches room on Polk Street

Police arrested Ashley Dickstein, 26, of San Francisco, on Sunday after she reportedly set her hotel room on fire during a spat with her lover,  spokesman Officer Albie Esparza said.

Police responded to the 2000 block of Polk Street about 10:55 p.m. after Dickstein and her boyfriend got into a brawl, during which she bit him and he called police, Esparza said. A fire was burning in the room, but it was quickly extinguished by the hotel’s sprinkler system and a hose in the hallway.

Dickstein was arrested and charged with arson, battery and domestic violence. A female officer reportedly sustained minor injuries during the arrest, Esparza said.
