The man suspected of DUI who allegedly phoned the arresting officer 152 times – leaving 54 messages over three weeks– is back in custody after police arrested him again on charges of skipping out on the start of his jury trial.

Despite not showing up for court Jan. 22, 48-year-old unemployed cabdriver Khalil Jaser of Burlingame was apparently not hiding. The activity on his Twitter account continued and GPS information showed some of the recent posts were made from his hometown.

Following his DUI arrest in July, threats to the Brisbane cop were posted on the same Twitter account.

After The San Francisco Examiner reported the story last week, Jaser sent several emails to the newspaper. He claimed the Brisbane cop was lying and accused The Examiner of smearing his name.

“You keep smearing me and you'll be extremely famous in a nice way,” Jaser said, adding, “…ok. I love you.”

In a separate email to The Examiner on Friday morning, Jaser asked, “If there is a warrant for my arrest how come I am still free and not in jail?”

That same day, according to prosecutors, police took Jaser into custody. On Monday, his bail was increased from $150,000 to $300,000. He reportedly remained in custody Tuesday.

His jury trial is scheduled for March 18, prosecutors said.
