The City is throwing the book at an Occupy San Francisco protester accused of throwing bricks at fellow activists, the District Attorney’s Office said Thursday.

Jesse Nesbitt, 34, will be held to answer all felony charges he faces in connection with a protest in May in which members of Occupy took over a vacant Tenderloin building.

Nesbitt is accused of throwing bricks and other objects from the roof of the building at 888 Turk St.
This was not Nesbitt’s first run-in with the law. In November 2011, he was accused of throwing a glass bottle at a city worker during Occupy’s tent takeover of Justin Herman Plaza on The Embarcadero.

In an interview with the San Francisco Bay Guardian this year, Nesbitt said he served in the military in South Korea. His service was reportedly during peace time, but he said he saw combat with North Korea.

“It hardened my heart,” he told the newspaper. “And it gave me a sense of duty to uphold our Constitution.”

Nesbitt is expected to appear in court Dec. 27, the District Attorney’s Office said.
