Man accused of stalking ex-girlfriend in San Francisco

A man accused of stalking his ex-girlfriend did not let a protective order — or her
second-floor window — stop him from seeing her.

Mitchell Hoyt, 23, pleaded not guilty Thursday to seven charges related to stalking his ex. He was arrested inside her San Francisco apartment Tuesday, authorities said.

According to a police report, Hoyt and his girlfriend broke up in September after he punched her in the face. She then got the protective order to keep him away.

The couple reportedly got back together for a time, but the victim broke up with Hoyt again in November, the report said. Hoyt reportedly then began stalking her daily.

The victim’s terror culminated when she woke up in her bedroom about 4 a.m. Tuesday and Hoyt, an alleged methamphetamine user, was there. He reportedly had climbed up the outside of her building to her bedroom window.

Hoyt was arrested, and an investigation by the special victims unit led to the charges.
