Knickknack bunny whack lands roomie in handcuffs

A ceramic bunny was used as a weapon during a vicious brawl between Mission district roommates early Monday, police said.

Around 12:30 a.m., police said, an allegedly drunken 28-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of breaking the statue over his 48-year-old roommate’s head at their apartment in the 200 block of Capp Street.

After reportedly coming home drunk, the assailant allegedly accused his roommate of taking his wallet and keys, which he claimed he had set down when he got home. That sparked a brawl in which the suspect allegedly struck the 48-year-old with the bunny, breaking it, police said.

The victim suffered swelling above his eye, and his roommate was arrested on assault charges.
