Two separate victims sleep through robberies

Sleep tight, don’t let the bed burglars bite.

Two people were victims of separate burglaries while they were sleeping last Sunday, police said.

The first burglary was reported about 7 p.m. in the 3700 block of 17th Street. A 76-year-old woman woke up and realized her computer had been stolen. A window was open and the screen had been removed, police said.

The second burglary was reported two hours later in the first block of Drumm Street, police said. In that incident, a 45-year-old man sleeping in his hotel room awoke to find that his laptop, cellphones, backpack and cash were gone, police said. The victim claimed to have not seen or heard anyone and there were no signs of forced entry.
