Wanted: 2 guys toting stun guns, statues

Two stun-gun-toting men who robbed a consignment store near Bernal Heights last week made off with a surprisingly large amount of valuable loot, according to the latest report from police.

The cultured crooks reportedly hauled away 26 gems, three statues worth $4,000 apiece and $3,400 in cash during the Aug. 15 heist of a shop in the 3700 block of Mission Street.

As of Wednesday, police said, no one had been arrested. One of the robbers is believed to have been a customer of the store, which was described as an “art museum” by the Ingleside Police Station.

The day before the robbery, police said, a man called to ask if the store could open two hours early the next day to accommodate him. Five minutes after opening, two men in dark clothing stormed in holding stun guns. While one pushed two employees into a back room, police said, the other emptied a safe.

“The suspect told the victims that if they called police, he would kill them and their family members,” police said.

Police have a few leads, one being that employees recognized one of the suspects as a customer. Also, a witness who saw the suspects fleeing gave a description to police, who would not release the information.
