A man was arrested Tuesday night after allegedly attacking another man with a potato peeler and robbing him in the restroom of a Mission district restaurant.

The 55-year-old victim was using the bathroom at the eatery, which is in the 2200 block of Mission Street, about 8:20 p.m. when the 26-year-old suspect barged in holding the potato peeler, police said. He reportedly put the victim in a headlock.

The man took the victim’s wallet and fled, police said. The victim chased the suspect out of the restaurant and tackled him on the sidewalk.

Nearby officers said they witnessed the skirmish and took the suspect into custody.

The victim did not suffer a serious injury. As of Wednesday afternoon, it was unknown if any potatoes were harmed in the incident.
