San Francisco cops arrested a man Thursday on suspicion of a bank robbery spree committed earlier that day, police said Friday.

David Conrado, 48, of San Francisco, allegedly robbed two banks at the Laurel Village Shopping Center about 2 p.m., police said. A bank was robbed in the 3500 block of California Street and minutes later another bank in the 3400 block was hit.

In both robberies, the suspect walked into the banks in disguise, armed with a handgun, police said. He then demanded cash and fled.

A third incident occurred about an hour later in the 1500 block of Van Ness Avenue, police said. In that incident the suspect walked into the bank wearing a ski mask and demanded cash from the teller. After fleeing the bank with the cash, the suspect was followed by an employee who identified the suspect to responding officers. He was then taken into custody.

Conrado was identified by victims and witnesses in all three robberies, police said. He was in possession of more than $6,000 and other evidence tying him to the crimes, they said.

Conrado was booked on five counts of robbery, three counts of burglary and three counts of being in possession of stolen property.
