Three sought after violent homophobic attacks

Three suspects are being hunted in connection to hate crime assaults in the Castro and Hayes Valley areas.

In two recent attacks, police said, men hollered homophobic slurs while beating up victims they did not know, police Officer Gordon Shyy said.

One of the assaults occurred March 29 in the 400 block of Castro Street, police said, while the other happened April 7 near Market and Gough streets.

Police Wednesday released sketches of the suspects, described as Hispanic men in their late 20s. One of the suspects was described as a clean-cut man about 6-foot tall and weighing 170 pounds. The second was about 5-foot-7 and 150 pounds, with blond spiky hair, police said. A third suspect is a white or Hispanic male, approximately 5-foot-10, 150 pounds with short blond hair.
