The San Francisco mom who crashed her car three times after taking her 4-year-old daughter to see “The Smurfs” in Daly City last year was given credit for time served Monday after pleading no contest to a misdemeanor drunken-driving charge and having a minor in the car, San Mateo County prosecutors said.
Sarah Thomison Boushey, 42, will have to install an anti-DUI device in her car and use it for the three years she is on probation, District Attorney Steve Wagstaffe said.
Boushey was sentenced to 69 days in County Jail, of which she served 47, Wagstaffe said. She also will have to complete a first-time offender program.
Boushey was arrested Aug. 19 after a witness reported seeing her sideswipe two cars before striking a median barrier near the exit of The Century Theaters.
When police arrived, Boushey’s daughter reportedly had to tell them her mother’s name and that her mom was drunk. Police found a bottle of vodka in Boushey’s purse and her blood-alcohol level tested at 0.35, Wagstaffe said.
“I know ‘The Smurfs’ can be tough,” Wagstaffe said, “but they can’t be that tough.”
