Two men shot, one fired upon before holiday weekend

Two men were shot and another was fired upon during a robbery in The City at the start of President’s Day Weekend, police said.

The first shooting happened Friday around 3:10 p.m. in the Lower Haight, police said.

A 21-year-old man was sitting in a car in the unit block of Potomac Street when he was shot several times by a suspect described as a man in his 20s. The shooter fled on foot to a black, four-door car waiting around the corner.

The victim was shot several times in the torso but is expected to recover, police said.

Around four hours later another man was shot in the thigh in Hunters Point.

The 19-year-old victim was standing on the corner of Northridge and Dormitory roads when an unknown suspect ran past him, shot him in the leg and fled. The victim was treated at the hospital for his wound, which was not life threatening.

Then around 8:20 p.m. a man was robbed at gunpoint in Visitacion Valley, police said.

A 46-year-old man was sitting in his car when a gun-wielding man in his 20s opened the car door and demanded the victim’s goods, police said. The victim complied, turning over his wallet, CD player and phone. The crook fired one shot toward the victim as he fled on foot.

Luckily, the victim was not hit.
