A Mountain View man was shot in East Palo Alto on Wednesday, East Palo Alto police said.
The 35-year-old victim was shot in the 2300 block of Cooley Avenue by an unidentified gunman around 6:48 p.m.
Police were alerted to the shooting by a ShotSpotter activation, they said. A car was seen fleeing the area at the time of the shooting. Police described the vehicle as “similar to a silver Toyota Rav 4.” Responding officers found evidence of a shooting but no victim.
The victim checked himself into Stanford Hospital, where he was treated for his nonlife-threatening injuries, police said.
