Couple crooks stick it to their victim in SF robbery

A man was assaulted with a stick and robbed in the Mid-Market area Saturday, police said.

The 56-year-old victim was crossing the unit block of Sixth Street around 5:45 a.m. when a man wielding a stick walked up behind him and hit him in the shoulder, police Officer Albie Esparza said.

The victim tried to grab the stick from the attacker but in doing so dropped his bag and the attacker’s accomplice picked it up, Esparza said.

The thieves fled on foot with the man’s bag, police said. No arrests have been made.

The only description given to police was that the two suspects were wearing hoodies, one black and one gray.

The victim did not sustain serious injury.
