Neighbor held in Duboce Park home theft

Love thy neighbor — except maybe not this guy.

San Francisco cops said they didn’t have to look very far for a suspect during a burglary investigation on Potomac Street near Duboce Park. It turned out a neighbor had busted through the back window of a home and fled with a television and jewelry, according to Park station police Capt. Denis O’Leary.

As part of their investigation, police zeroed in on a neighbor who was on probation, O’Leary said.

Investigators found fingerprints on the window that matched those of 56-year-old Andre Jackson, who was arrested, O’Leary said Tuesday.

The victim told police he recognized Jackson as a neighbor but did not know him — and certainly never said it was OK to crawl into his home, O’Leary said.
